Since 1985, the Craft Guild of Nevada County has been more than a group—it's a creative force dedicated to uplifting local artisans and helping them thrive. Born from the passion to teach artists how to market, promote, and sell their work, the Guild is all about networking, supporting, and encouraging crafters of every level.
In the Guild's history, one event has truly captured the heart and mission of the community: Winterfaire Artisan & Craft Show!
Winterfaire, held at the Nevada County Fairgrounds for over 40 years, has become a cherished holiday tradition and major fundraiser for the Guild.
Unfortunately, in 2020, following the pandemic, this long-standing fundraiser faced financial challenges. There were even concerns in 2023 that the Guild would be forced to dissolve. Yet, just like the artists who embody resilience and creativity, the Guild and Winterfaire returned in 2024 with renewed energy, showcasing the immense talent and spirit of Nevada County’s art scene!
In its 2024 revival, Winterfaire featured not only long-standing Guild members, but also talented local artists from neighboring areas, making it a hub for art lovers to explore and acquire one-of-a-kind treasures. The event celebrated the power of art to connect people, transforming our fairground space into a magical marketplace of unique pieces with stories behind every magical piece of art!
For artists and art lovers alike, Winterfaire is a gem—a place to discover and support local creativity while finding pieces that spark joy and wonder.
With 2025 on the horizon, the Guild is dreaming even bigger! Winterfaire promises to be bolder, with more artists, more innovation, and more opportunities for everyone in the community to own special works of art that support the members of the Guild and our art community.
